Dr Sean Sands

Research Director, ACRS Monash Business School

Sean Sands is a Senior Research Fellow within the Department of Marketing and Research Director at ACRS.

As ACRS Research Director, Sean heads up the ACRS Research Team and Industry Engagement for the Department of Marketing. With over a decade's experience at multinational and boutique research agencies, he has an expertise in retail and services industries. Over this time, Sean has been involved in new product development, pricing research, and market segmentation studies across a diverse range of industries, including retail, banking and finance, government, automotive and pharmaceuticals.

He has presented as numerous industry conferences and seminars including the World Retail Congress in Europe and Asia and is a regular media commentator, with press coverage in radio (ABC Radio, BBC Radio, Radio National), TV (Lateline Business, A Current Affair, Channel Nine), print (The Age, Herald Sun) and trade press (Marketing Magazine, Retailing Magazine) among others.

In terms of teaching, Sean has an interest in retail and market research methods, which he has taught at University and within industry at AMSRS. He has taught as a visiting professor at EADA Business School, Barcelona (ranked among the 25 best business schools in Europe - Financial Times, 2013).

Current research projects include: channel choice, retail experience, social media as a marketing channel, and sustainability.
